This website is dedicated to educating Oklahoman students on a dark chapter in Oklahoma's history. It is meant to provide a glimpse into the state of race relations at the time of the event, the immediate after effects on the black community in Tulsa, and systematic racism that still emanates in the present day from this specific event. Ultimately, this website hopes to provide students with an understanding of the gravity of what was lost on that day in 1921.
This website was created by Bryan Barrett for Dr. Cedillo's Advanced Composition II for Teachers course at Northeastern State University.
